Program Leader, IISD Public Procurement & Infrastructure Finance Program

Oshani Perera leads the sustainable public procurement and public private partnership programme and the sustainable finance programme at the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD).  In both these roles she advices national governments on the design of laws, policies and instruments to:  1.) integrate environmental and social performance into public procurement and PPP arrangements;  b) policies and instruments for lowering the cost of capital for environmentally and socially sustainable assets and enterprises . Her geographical experience includes India, Sri Lanka, Abu Dhabi, Chile, China, Ghana, India, South Africa, Costa Rica, Lao PDR, USA, EU, Vietnam, Mauritius, Egypt, Timor Este, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Jamaica, Mexico, Seychelles, and Costa Rica and Thailand.
Ms Perera has extensive experience is diverse aspects of sustainable development including environmental management systems, corporate sustainability auditing, benchmarking and reporting, supply chain management, investment incentives and FDI. 
Before working with IISD, Ms Perera worked at KPMG, the McKinsey Global Institute the United Nations Environment Programme.  She is accredited as a Lead Environmental Auditor by the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
